Dr. L.eblond’s treatment of the uses of ‎autoradiography includes the details of his methods and very useful precautions based upon the long experience of his group. His ‎statements about the quantitative potential of the method require qualifying comment but the book contains no discussions from the ‎meeting. Barmett and Tice review the development of electron microscope histochemistry in encyclopedic fashion but again modify ‎the coverage with good advice based upon their own experiments. Those interested in this vital topic will find a good beginning here. ‎The succeeding reviews by Seligman Burstone and Novikoff give good accounts of the creation and validation of method. or the ‎localization of enzymes. These discussions are limited to methods. The reviews by several European authors and by Des. ‎Montagna and Ellis on the skin are focused upon the application of special methods to problems in cancer general cytology or other ‎applied fields. A major obstacle presented by the book is the transcription of the text in three languages. Front cover is illustrated featuring a man presumably Captain Hatteras running on shore holding a Union Jack flag with a dog by his side and a sailing ship in the distance. Three pages of ads before the half title page. Thirty-two pages of ads for other published books at rear in addition to three pages of ads for various products soap lozenges ointment etc. Front hinge is loose with webbing exposed. Spine has some tears and some areas where paper covering of boards is missing. Some light spotting of text block. Remnants of small price sticker on front cover.
