Apparently the only edition with English translation by A. L. Alger. This edition mostly likely unauthorized may have preceded the "authorized" 1874 Osgood edition published as DR. OX'S EXPERIMENT AND OTHER STORIES. The Gill edition was advertised as "now ready" on 11 July 1874. The Osgood edition with contents translated by George M.
