He was the originator of the theory of tagmemics which he developed to help with the analysis of languages from Central and South America by identifying using both semantic and syntactic elements strings of linguistic elements capable of playing a number of different roles. He believed that the structure of language should be studied in context not just by looking at single sentences. Unopened box still in shrink wrap contains four CD's for Vietnamese speakers learning English. Text on the box is in Vietnamese. All praise to uncle Ho! Little irony in that the box cover depicts a bacikground illustration of the Declaration of Independence, quoted by Ho Chi Min in his appointment with Woodrow Wilson at the Paris Peace Conferance of 1919. Ho was then employed as kitchen help at the Ritz Hotel and while his visit did some good, it did not lead to brokered independence of his country at the hands of the imperial powers, including the U.S. This eventually lead to the 20 years of war that Vietnam finally won.
