" The circus is the lving depository of certain of the most ancient arts of civilization. Through it, man continues to communicate with animals and with some of the higher powers lying within the normal aptitudes of the species, which, for this reason, is endowed in our eyes with supernatural prestige. We can congratulate ourselves that Professor Bouissac, who has been himself a man of the circus, has had at the same time the intellectual capacity and the literary talent required to elaborate a theory which has always been lacking and which this book presents in a particularly brilliant manner." -- Claude Levi-Strauss‎

‎House X‎

‎A clean, unmarked book with a tight binding. Light edge wear to cover. 10"w x 10"h. 168 pages. Black and white illustrations. "The specific configurations of House X can be understood initially as the juxtaposition of four squares. This configuration is only an initial analogue, a heuristic device used to approach a more complex sign condition, which in itself is only a possible approximation of the reality it signifies. In fact, the final configuration is a cumulative attempt to dissolve its own seeming connection with any initial analogue. In other words, the final plan is only a series of traces that refer, in a sense, forward to a more complex and incomplete structure rather than backward to a unitary, simple, and stable structure. It thus becomes a kind of pre-distillation of a more complex "future" condition." [from the architect's website]‎

‎Anadolu'da bulunan Türkçe yazilmis ilk metinlerden yeni bir kesif (Metin - çeviri - inceleme - dizin). =[A new discovery from the first Turkic texts written in Anatolia].‎

‎New English Paperback. Pbo. Demy 8vo. (21 x 14 cm). In Turkish. 72 p. Anadolu'da bulunan Türkçe yazilmis ilk metinlerden yeni bir kesif (Metin - çeviri - inceleme - dizin). =[A new discovery from the first Turkic texts written in Anatolia]. As a new discovery, an Arabic manuscript book is found recently which has an unlighted identity and content that is progressively being analysed in detail. Interestingly in a few texts written in Turkic of the manuscript, Turkic phrases "olga" and "bolga" are both used, indicatively both Eastern Turkic and Western Turkic features can be seen in the texts. And thus, indications of the Turkic language Seljukian which has an "hybrid" grammatical specialities are determined in the texts of the manuscript. The texts are on the illuminating point of the Turkish language history from the perspective of their lingual historical era and for the progression in the centuries of the Turkish language. Grammatical specialities of the texts are also very important for the researches on the history and sources of Turkish language and literature in terms of increasing the present accumulation of knowledge. This book comprises the first results and stage of the analyse and reconnoitre on the manuscript which is conserved as an important discovery. Following results and stages of the research in order to get advanced conclusions are planned on the manuscript. In this work, methodologically at first, general physical features and the condition of the manuscript are clarified and a philological commentary on the Turkish language era of the texts, transcription, translation, detailed grammatical index and facsimiles of the 4 Turkic texts existing in the manuscript are presented.‎
