The book will also provide the means for communicating the problems of Rhodes and Kos turks in recent history and at persent to the turkish and international public opinion, but especially to the Greek public opinion. In this respect, it also includes some suggestions for the establishment of a long-lasting friendship in Turkish-Greek relations.

Hakan Gürüney's Tenedos Collection of more than 5,000 documents and objects is exhibited was the highest and most magnificent of the buildings constructed after the 1874 Tenedos fire. It was originally constructed by Dimosten Tulmidis as two adjoining buildings. One of the buildings was two storeys high and the other, three. The side facades of the building were ornamented with the shallowly projecting columns known as pilasters. Photographs of the preiod reveal that there is an open terrace and marble columns on the third storey. After the family that resided there immigrated to Australia in 1950, the building fell into disrepair, and when bricks and marble began to fall into the road from the upper storeys, these floors were demolished, leaving only two one-storey buildings and their foundations. Over time the buildings were used for various purposes, and on 7 June 2006 a protocol was signed designating the building the Tenedos Local History Research Center, a joint project of the Tenedos District Governor's Office and M. Hakan Gürüney, for the purpose of exhibiting the Tenedos Collection".

It has been some 140 years now that actual finds from the ancient city of Troy-that city near the Dardanelles-that Troia around which was spun the famed epic of Homer's Illiad-appeared to accompany and magnify the myth. The finds unearthed there-many representing buried treasures-are today widely scattered, with principal groups, however, now found housed in only (!) eight different museums. The goal of this work is to bring the individual pieces together, to verify their common origin, to consider their purpose, and to place them into an accurate chronological perspective-not only within the strata of the site itself, but throughout the Bronze Age world that helped create them. These objects demonstrate how developed the aesthetic sensibilities of our ancestors living some 4500 years ago really were, and how highly developed the craft of their goldsmiths was at the time. From the first article: "From the photographs taken over time, we chose those which best capture a special artistic quality with their strictly documentary value. This selection of manuscripts ends before the dawn of the 16th century, given the common view that after the fall of Constantinople (1453) we can no longer speak of a truly Byzantine culture, but only of a Byzantine style, albeit one which continued to shine. The selection of images was also intended to emphasize not only the aesthetics of the illuminated folios, but also those details that are significant for the codices as a whole, things which would dryly translate today as typeface font type, page layout and binding. Far from the sight of all interested parties, the Byzantine manuscripts in the Bucharest repositories are still full of mysteries waiting to be discovered and explained by researchers. We present these images here to provide a platform for a wider discussion of the significance of the Byzantine legacy for Romanian pre-modern culture. For the identification and description of the items chosen we used several catalogues, either manuscript or in print, which we then compared with the corresponding labels used by the repositories. The bibliography at the end of the volume indicates the various catalogues used for each collection. We found a wealth of details pertaining to the manuscript collections of the Romanian Patriarchy in the album published by the archimandrite Policarp. This is an excellent occasion to thank the specialists involved in the inventory of the collection for the additional information they supplied. We extend our warmest gratitude to them.Here and there we updated and corrected the information found in the aforementioned sources in the light of recent research: the dating of ms. sl. II 280, from the Library of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church at the Antim Monastery. We thank Mrs Tatiana Popova (University of St. Petersburg in Severodvinsk), for the observation that we are dealing with a direct copy, made at the end of the 14th century, of the Russian metropolitan Kyprian's reworking (dated 1385) of the Ladder of John Climax. Ms. sl. II 280 belongs to a group of manuscripts kept at Antim Monastery, but originates from a collection in Slava Rusa, a settlement in Dobrogea and a known...".
