This is the second edition of Richard Bernard's English translation of Terence the first was published in 1598. Richard Bernard 1568 - 1641 was a puritan divine ; M.A. Christ's College Cambridge ; vicar of Worksop 1601 and presented to Batcombe 1613. He wrote a number of books on various themes including ' Isle of Man or Proceeding in Manshire ' 1627 a book thought by many to prelude the ' Pilgrim's Progress.
