London - Collins 1957 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First edition. A first Edition of Mansfield's first novelFirst EditionBound in red paper with an unclipped dust wrapperThe Collins Crime Club was an imprint of UK book publishers William Collins & Co Ltd and ran from May 6 1930 to April 1994. It was not a book club in the usual sense of the word in that customers did not have to subscribe to the club with promises to buy a certain number of volumes each year. Instead they registered their name and address with the club and were sent a Newsletter every three months which advised them of the latest books which had been or were to be issued. Mansfield's Final Exposure was his first novel and charts the events surrounding a murder on the exotic island of San Rafael. what makes the case unique is that fact that it was captured by a photographer who happened to be at the murder scene. Condition: The binding is tight and firm. There is only slight wear to the extremities including slight bumping to the top and tail to the spine. There is mild wear to the dust wrapper including a couple of closed tearsone chip to the base of the spine and there is also very mild spotting. Internally the pages are bright and clean but with significant offsetting to pages 20-21. There is some very mild spotting to the end papers andthe date stampedto the rear end paper.
