Edgar Allan Poe: First Day of Cover Signed By Agatha Christie Rex Stout Leslie Charteris Evan Hunter and Others. 1949. Issued on the 100th Anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's Death signed in the early 1970's by Agatha Christie Rex Stout Leslie Charteris Evan Hunter with his pen name "Ed McBain" in brackets Richard Lockeridgeand George Harmon Coxe. It is likely that they would have been signed at the Mystery Writes of America in the early 1970's since Rex Stout died in 1975. The signature of Agatha Christie appears to be a little shakier which is typical of her writing in the same period. This first day cover that was issued on October 7 1949. We have seen most of the same writers sign a later first day issue in 1974 so it is possible they were signed at the same event.

unknown
