1520 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First edition. Undated dated using Worldcat which only has one entry for this work held at Biblioteca Vigilianum Itlay. Worldcat states the date of this work as 1519 or 1520 and names the publishers as Grimm and Wirsung. In a fine tooled binding with new endpapers. With the bookplate of one 'Picajanus' to the front pastedown. Johann Eck was a German Scholastic theologian. He produced works of Aristotles following a ducal commission. A very early possibly first edition of Eck's collection of Aristotle's works. Comprising of Aristotle's 'De Anima' or 'On the Soul'. 'De Anima' is a major treatise on psychology within a biological framework. The second tract to this is Aristotle's 'Sense and Sensibilia' which is found in his Parva Naturalia. Following this are another three tracts from 'Parva Naturalia' being 'Demomoria & Reminiscentia' 'De Somno & Vigilia' and 'De Longitudine & Breuiate Vitae'. With a woodcut title page with a bishop's mitre and a crosier representing the arms of Christoph von Schroffenstein Bishop of Brixen to whom this work is dedicated. Decorative woodcut letters. In Latin. A beautifully bound copy of this very scarce work. Condition: In a tooled calf binding. Externally in an excellent condition with just some light shelfwear to the extremities. With the bookplate of one 'Picajanus' to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright. Just the odd spots to pages. Overall Condition: Near Fine. hardcover
