Handsomely bound to style in full dark calf blind panelling to covers with blind floral motif at the centre raised bands to spine with blind motif in compartments gilt lettered and decorated red morocco label new endpapers original front free endpaper preserved. Spanish inscription dated 1672 on front endpaper a little pale staining to margins of title page and to lowest section with imprint this lowest stain persisting to page 40 the previous owner has written his surname unobtrusively in a couple of margins very occasional small stains to margins mostly very clean closed tear to margin of Gg1 another across lower margin of Tt4 both neatly repaired. Binding tight and firm most text clean and bright a very good copy. Bernardo Segni 1504-1558 was a humanist scholar and diplomat born in Florence. He translated several of Aristotle's works into Italian. This translation is dedicated to his patron Cosimo de' Medici.
