Die Paginierung ist teils irrig sie springt von: 112 auf 117 308 auf 331 364 auf 367 570 auf 573 636 auf 639 und 654 auf 647. Statt 741 hat der Band deshalb nur 725 Seiten. Druck in Kursivschrift mit 25 Zeilen. Auf Seite 346 ff. finden sich wenige zeitgen�ssische Marginalien. Das fehlende Titelblatt wurde durch ein hervorragendes Faksimile auf altem Papier ersetzt. Im Wesentlichen ist das Faksimile nur durch die fehlende Wurmspur zu erkennen. Mit einem Empfehlungsschreiben von Papst Leo X. auf der R�ckseite des Titels datiert 10. September 1518 das zum ersten Mal in der Ausgabe Froben 1519 abgedruckt wurde. Nach Seite 654 ist ein sp�ter entstandener Kupferstich auf Pergament eingebunden: S. Iacobus Maior der Heilige Jakob mit der Jakobsmuschel am Gewand in der Platte bezeichnet: C. Galle. "Cornelius Galle der �ltere geb. 1576 in Antwerpen; gest. 29. M�rz 1650 Antwerpen war ein niederl�ndischer Zeichner des Barock und das erfolgreichste Mitglied einer Kupferstecherfamilie. Er war ein Sohn von Philipp Galle Bruder von Theodor Galle und der Vater von Cornelius Galle d. J." Wikipedia. Die Druckermarke auf dem letzten Blatt verso ist nicht mit der von Hans Holbein d.J. gezeichneten identisch zeigt aber auch die "Gelegenheit" Occasio in Gestalt einer nackten Frau mit fliegendem Haar auf einer rollenden Kugel. Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich bei der vorliegenden Ausgabe um einen Nachdruck der Ausgabe von Johannes Froben 1519. "1516 ver�ffentlichte Erasmus eine kritische Edition des griechischen Neuen Testaments Novum Instrumentum omne diligenter ab Erasmo Rot. Recognitum et Emendatum mit einer neuen von ihm selbst durch �berarbeitung der Vulgata erstellten lateinischen �bersetzung und Kommentar. Erasmus' Neues Testament war der erste erh�ltliche vollst�ndige gedruckte griechische Text des Neuen Testaments ein anderes schon fr�her begonnenes Projekt zum Druck des Textes war ins Stocken geraten und kam letztlich erst sp�ter auf den Markt. Offenbar sah Erasmus den griechischen Text zuerst nur als Beiwerk zu seiner neuen lateinischen Fassung an um seine �nderungen gegen�ber der Vulgata begr�nden zu k�nnen. Er widmete die Ausgabe Papst Leo X. und nutzte dabei wiederentdeckte Manuskripte die mit griechischen Fl�chtlingen aus Konstantinopel in den Westen gelangt waren. Nach dem Erfolg der Erstausgabe nannte er das Werk von der zweiten Auflage 1519 an schlicht Novum Testamentum. Es wurde von den �bersetzern der King-James-Bibel benutzt und diente auch Luther als Ausgangstext f�r seine deutsche Bibel�bersetzung. Der Text wurde sp�ter bekannt als Textus receptus. Erasmus besorgte drei weitere jeweils �berarbeitete Auflagen 1522 1527 und 1535. . Wegen seiner kritischen Haltung zur r�misch-katholischen Kirche wurden seine Werke auch seine Fassung des Neuen Testaments auf dem Konzil von Trient auf den Index gesetzt." Wikipedia.
