London: Jonathan Cape 1973. 0-224-00891-9. A lovely book by Helen Bradley whose artistic career didn't begin until she was in her sixties. Helen Bradley was born in 1900 in Lancashire she was an accomplished pianist by the age of eleven she met Gerald Moore in 1917 who begged her father in vain to let her turn professional. The mother of two and grandmother of seven she began to paint when she was over sixty to show her small grandchild what life was like when she was a child. She painted mainly with the hand and fingers her pictures vividly depict the Lancashire scene as it was between 1903 and 1910. Since her first exhibition in 1966 her work has trebled in value and at her last showin 1970all the paintings had been sold before opening day. Equally famous in the U.S.A. she was labelled Grandma Bradley after Americas own Grandma Moses following her exhibition in Los Angeles in 1968. This book is the sequel to 'And Miss Carter Wore Pink' see also ''In The Begining' Said Great-Aunt Jane' also by Helen Bradley. Purple cloth boards as new condition.

see image scan Jonathan Cape hardcover
