Lewin and Burt Styler and starring Betty Grable Dan Dailey Danny Thomas and Richard Boone. With choreography by Busby Berkeley and songs by Frances Ash Earl K. Brent Sammy Fain and Mack Gordon. "Call Me Mister" was based on a long-running Broadway revue with more than a little off-color humor. Fox grafted a storyline onto the revue cleaned up the dialogue and a wartime musical was born wherein Grable a singer touring USO bases runs into her old husband Dailey. Yellow titled wrappers stamped SHOOTING FINAL on the front wrapper rubber-stamped project No. 314 and copy No. 1 and dated June 8 1950. Distribution page present with receipt removed. Title page present with credits for screenwriters Lewin and Styler. 129 leaves with ten pages of retakes bound in at the rear. Several pages have simple holograph annotations mostly noting removed scenes re-ordered page sequences etc. Mimeo with blue revision pages throughout dated variously between 7/13/50 and 10/13/50. Based on a story by Cheavens source author of "Penny Serenade" 1941. Tessa Baxter leads an impoverished family holding a dinner for a soldier returning from war. They don't receive the soldier they expected and the charming stranger Sgt. Eric Hodiak quickly involves himself. The film was reprised for radio by Lux Radio Theatre in 1945 with original starring actors performing. Shot on location in Florida. 8 x 10 inches one slightly larger two single-weight glossy and one double-weight matte. Blumenstock 1900-1956 was a director of short films like "Morals for Women" 1931 and "Office Blues" 1930 and was Warner Bros. Eastern advertising and publicity representative through "House of Wax" 1953 as well as a film critic for the New Yorker magazine. Fessier's original screenplay about two brothers Jerry and Cass Payne and Brent who are Naval aviators. Cass becomes a respected Naval aviator like his father and Jerry becomes a flying cadet but during his training falls in love with Cass' fiancee Irene. Shot on location at Naval air stations in Pensacola and Coronado California. Pale blue titled wrappers noted as DRAFT on the front wrapper rubber-stamped copy No. 110.
