Leurs amis leur demand�rent donc d�organiser des d�ners o� la table et le vin �voqueraient le bon vieux temps d�avant-guerre. C�est ainsi qu�une fois par semaine tout un groupe de gourmands et m�me mieux de fins gourmets se trouvait r�uni devant une table bien garnie. Aucune association formelle ne fut cr��e mais se souvenant de � la Goutte de Lait � c�l�bre �uvre de charit� d�di�e aux nourrissons Marcel GRANCHER donna le nom de � la Goutte de Vin � � cette r�union amicale hebdomadaire. Les derniers temps de l�occupation et l�activit� de la Gestapo ne permirent plus gu�re ces retrouvailles les d�ners cess�rent. La guerre se termina enfin beaucoup regagn�rent Paris et conserv�rent du s�jour lyonnais le souvenir �mu de ces rencontres amicales. Georges Ravon journaliste au Figaro alla trouver Marcel Grancher et lui demanda de tenter de r�unir tous ces gens qui avaient tant sympathis� et d�organiser des retrouvailles r�guli�res. Il fallait continuer � faire vivre l�atmosph�re d�amiti� et de solidarit� qui s��tait form�e durant la guerre et qui �tait trop pr�cieuse pour �tre simplement oubli�e. The Life of Gargantua and of Pantagruel is a connected series of five novels written in the 16th century by Franois Rabelais. It is the story of two giants a father Gargantua and his son Pantagruel and their adventures written in an amusing extravagant satirical vein. The text features much crudity scatological humour and violence. Lists of explicit or vulgar insults fill several chapters. The censors of the Sorbonne stigmatised it as obscene and in a social climate of increasing religious oppression it was dealt with with suspicion and contemporaries avoided mentioning itWith letters written by Francis Rabelais M. D. during his stay in Italy in 1536 to rear of second volume. With previous owner's ink inscription to front free endpaper of both volumes dated February 5 1918. Condition: In a cloth binding.
