<p>This is an antique set of "DRAMAS" by Victor Hugo. Circa 1900's the volumes are undated but the year 1904 is written on the front pastedowns; Dana Estes & Company; Boston. "Illustrated Sterling Edition" - each volume features a frontispiece with a captioned tissue guard and eight other full-page illustrations. Gilt top page edges. Complete set in two volumes. The contents are as follows: VOLUME I & II - Hernani; The Twin Brothers; Angelo; Amy Robsart; Mary Tudor; Ruy Blas; Torquemada; Esmeralda. VOLUME III & IV - Cromwell; The Burgraves; The Fool's Revenge; Marion de Lorme; Lucretia Borgia.<br /><br />Condition:<br />Volume I & II has tiny specks on the front cover and spine and light staining on the back cover. Volume III & IV has clean covers and spine. Sharp cover corners. Both volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. All covers are firmly attached. Bright gilt top page edges. Nice interiors - the pages in both volumes are clean and nearly appear unread with only some mild foxing to the frontispieces. Name/date 1904 written in ink on both front pastedowns.
