Illustrated with hand-coloured linocuts. Kipling's famous poem -including the oft-quoted lines "Our England is a garden and such gardens are not made / By singing:'Oh how beautiful!' and sitting in the shade" - gloriously illustrated by Judith Verity with linocuts based on the garden at Whittington Court where the book was printed. Seventeen of the linocuts are full-page and they are printed with one verse of the poem per page. The double leaves in the book are joined at the inner margin and form a concertina-folded continuous strip measuring 30 x 470 cm Although the limitation page states that copies 1-25 contain an additional set of the linocuts this copy - numbered 5 - is one of the ordinary copies without additional proofs. From the colophon: ".set in 24-point Caslon and printed on Oxford laid paper with linocuts of Whittington Court garden hand-coloured by the artist. Copy No. 5 signed by Judith Verity.
