Direct from the Widdrington library at Newton Hall the 18th century country house and estate in Northumberland with a pencil shelfmark to the front free endpaper. Departmental Ditties comprises verses about official life in India reprinted from the CMG. This which Kipling always regarded as his first book had a great success among the community it satirised - ODNB. Condition: The binding is tight and firm. There is only very mild wear to the extremities with just very mild bumping and rubbing and some slight discolouration and marks to the boards. Internally the pages are generally clean with very occasional scattered spots and very mild browning to the page edges. With light scattered spots and slight offsetting to the endpapers.
