JOYCE, James; Henry Miller; Vladimir Nabokov
Published in Paris series complete set including Ulysses Tropic of Cancer and Lolita
Shelton CT: First Edition Library 1983. Limited Edition. Softcover. Fine. Varying sizes; three books in four total volumes housed in publisher's clamshell boxes with applied leather labels as issued. A very fine set with no flaws except for very gentle bumps to some corners of the clamshell boxes; still a lovely gift-quality set. Each of these three books was published in Paris in English and distributed in a discreet or clandestine manner due to being banned in the United States or United Kingdom due to explicit sexual content. All three are very difficult to locate in fine unrestored condition and each commands very high prices at auction or in the trade. As such these facsimiles which are exact replicas almost to the millimeter of the first editions are adequate budget-friendly substitutes or placeholders.

Though issued as a set we tend to find copies of these titles sold individually and they are often mistakenly broken up by unwitting booksellers or estate liquidators. A pleasingly intact set. First Edition Library unknown

Reading Finnegans Wake 1965 edition altered in 4 unique volumes Artist Book
London: Faber & Faber 2022. Fascimile. Hardcover. Fine In Fine Box. Fascimile. Hardcover. "Finnegans Wake is a novel by James Joyce written in 1939. It is considered one of the most complex books in English literature as well as being unique in its experimental writing style. The purpose of the work is to visually display this complexity. Using a classic 1965 edition by Faber and Faber the book was disbound woven and rebound respecting the original order of the pages and preserving the same cover. The new edition consists of 4 volumes covering the four parts and 450 pages of the original edition." Artist Statement Concept and weaving by Ximena Pérez Grobet. Unbinding and rebinding by Poncho Martínez. Assistant Teresa del Junco.

The unique copy was placed in 2020 at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library at the University of Toronto. Before it was sent off Ximena had the work carefully documented leaf by leaf volume by volume. She then sought to have an edition produced that might make the monumental work more accessable to a broader audience. Thus this edition embodies as much as can be captured of the original maintaining the four volumes mirroring Joyce's sections and housed in a pictorial flapped slipcase the inner flap of which contains a printed description of the project. Tight bright and unmarred. Color pictorial wraps housed in a matching flapped slipcase. 8vo. np. Illus. colored plates. Numbered limited edition of 300. Signed by the artist. Faber & Faber hardcover

Com fortes traos autobiogrficos o livro conta a histria de Stephen Dedalus e seu processo de amadurecimento artstico e intelectual. JOYCE, James, words by, and Samuel Barber, music by
Sheet music: Three Songs: Rain Has Fallen Sleep Now and I Hear an Army
New York: G. Schirmer 1939. Softcover. Very Good. Later printings. A set of three songs for voice and piano. Quartos. Nested bifoliums. Sticker shadow on the front cover of "Sleep Now" some edgewear and two internal tape repairs to "Rain Has Fallen" overall a very good and complete set. The work of two titans of 20th century artistic expression is brought together in this set of three compositions set to poems from Joyce's collection Chamber Music. Just as Joyce continues to be celebrated in the world of literature Samuel Barber remains an important figure in American music probably best remembered today for his heartbreaking Adagio for Strings.
