New York: Ballantine Books. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket. 1957. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. Signed by the author on a typed autographed letter which has been pasted onto the front endpaper. The envelope has been pasted to the front pastedown page. The correspondence from Farmer is to Bill Dutcher a very well-known fan of Tarzan who published a fanzine for a number of years. The letter from farmer is in regards to some Tarzan posters that Dutcher was selling. This particular book is one of the scarcest titles in the Ballantine Hardback series. The text pages are clean and bright. The price clipped dust jacket has several edge nicks and tears rubbed spots and a couple of tiny chips missing. This book is #H-210 in the Ballantine Book series which was issued simultaneously in hardback and paperback. "Philip Jos Farmer January 26 1918 February 25 2009 was an American author known for his award-winning science fiction and fantasy novels and short stories. Farmer is best known for his sequences of novels especially the World of Tiers 196593 and Riverworld 197183 series. He is noted for the pioneering use of sexual and religious themes in his work his fascination for and reworking of the lore of celebrated pulp heroes and occasional tongue-in-cheek pseudonymous works written as if by fictional characters. Farmer often mixed real and classic fictional characters and worlds and real and fake authors as epitomized by his Wold Newton family group of books." ; Signed by Author . Ballantine Books hardcover
