Elek 1956. 1st UK thus. Very good/Good. Introduced and translated by Alec Brown this is a superb rendition of Zola's classic novel about the psychopathic manipulations of cheminot Lantier. The anthropomorphic treatment of the train is outstanding. This book has age-related defects but is eminently collectable and readable. Superb cover art work. There is some foxing to page and block edges; it opens a little loosely. The jacket suffers some loss to spine top and lower edge. Rear a little grubby. But not price clipped and largely intact in good presentable condition. Elek unknown
