‎Steinschneider 6702. VD17 12:119305F. Erste Ausgabe. - Otto (1562 - ca. 1655) stammt aus der weitverzweigten und berühmten jüdischen Familie Margoliot. Konvertierte Anfang des 17. Jhdts. zum christlichen Glauben (am Dreifaltigkeitsfest, 27. Mai 1600, im Beisein von Fürstbischof Julius Echter in Würzburg getauft), 1603/07 Professor der Theologie und der hebräischen Sprache in Altdorf bei Nürnberg. Trat später (zwischenzeitlich) wieder zum Judentum über. Er verfaßte u.a. zahlreiche Lehrbücher der hebräischen Sprache. Nach diversen Umwegen ab 1642 Professor für orientalische Sprachen, (Hebräisch, Chaldäisch, Syrisch, Rabbinisch) und Slawisch am King James College der Universität Edinburgh. Seiner Schrift Gali Razia wird möglicher Einfluß auf die christliche Mystik des frühen 17. Jahrhunderts (Steudner und Böhme) nachgesagt. - Vereinzelt leicht gebräunt und im Rand teils ein wenig fleckig. Hinterer Vorsatz und letzte zwei Blatt im Rand wurmspurig, kein Buchstabenverlust.
