Boston: Peirce and Williams 1828. First edition. Volume I containining all 12 issues for 1828. Scholarly orthodox Christian periodical with a decidedly anti-Unitarian purpose. Tan hardcover wtih dark brown cloth spine all edges tinted yellow 672 pages. Covers rubbed especially at the edges chip to spine head binding sound but not tight endpapers heavily foxed pages clean with occasional light foxing dampstains to the far outer margins of a few pages no names or other markings. Dijon: Pellion et Marchet Freres. Good with no dust jacket. 1886. Unknown. Hardcover. A very attractive edition of this little book 4" x 3" with an ivory or ivorine binding with a carved decorative front in an oval surround in good condition. LACKING the central section of the metal clasp. All page edges brightly gilt. A Chromolithographic frontispiece & a similar Chromo decorated title page separated by a tissue guard followed by a red and black Printed title page. Silk effect endpapers slightly marked. Inner hinges look to have been reglued at some point. FRENCH TEXT only. Overall good tight and clean. A translation page giving the copyright to Pellionet Marchet is dated 1867 but I am unsure if this is the date of the book or this is a little later The Tables des Fetes Mobile shows date starting 1886 and ending 1897 - so I would assume this may be 1886 .
