brossura L'opera in prosa di Valerio Magrelli, inaugurata nel 2003 da "Nel condominio di carne", ma preannunciata già quasi dieci anni prima negli "Esercizi di tiptologia", è una macchina minuziosa che si innesta su altre due macchine: quella del corpo da una parte, quella della tradizione letteraria e artistica occidentale dall'altra. E processando pezzi di queste macchine, e attraversando modi diversi come la malattia, la metamorfosi, l'instabilità dei confini identitari, ma anche la memoria, personale e non solo, di un uomo sempre più tecnicizzato e artificiale, produce immagini e le combina in paesaggi insieme visivi e sonori. Questo libro, analizzando soprattutto i due esiti maggiori della prosa magrelliana, il "Condominio" e il recente "Geologia di un padre", ma con frequenti agganci alla scrittura in versi, cerca di sottolineare la portata sia letteraria sia concettuale di uno degli autori più importanti della letteratura italiana contemporanea; lo fa scegliendo come territorio di indagine uno dei procedimenti che Magrelli ha saputo portare ad un altissimo livello di complessità e di peso, ossia quello delle citazioni. Sempre, ma in Magrelli più che mai, le citazioni sono interventi, molto imparentati con la chirurgia e la clinica: selezioni e prelievi da corpi propri e altrui, reimpianti, adattamenti e rigetti. Perché Magrelli continua ad autocitarsi, cambiando sottilmente, ad ogni intervento, il senso del suo prelievo?

Leggere «Il Gattopardo». Una chiave di lettura originale per un romanzo «ironico, amaro e non privo di cattiveria»
