In questo sorprendente romanzo erotico, ritrovato miracolosamente tra le sue carte, Vogel tratteggia una Vienna in cui i molteplici fermenti che la animano non si coagulano in alcuna progettualità e dipinge lucidamente un'umanità priva di punti di riferimento, rappresentazione di un'Europa che sta scivolando verso una irreparabile disgregazione.
