An exceedingly rare volume with no other copies found. </p><p>This work is part of the ongoing Chinese Rites Controversy a dispute among Catholic missionaries over the religiosity of Confucianism and Chinese rituals during the 17th and 18th centuries. Here the authors presents a response to a 1701 book attributed to Giuseppe Maria Tabaglio printed by Gottfried de Berges Cologne titled: Il disinganno contraposto da un religioso dell' ordine de' predicatori alla difesa de' missionarii cinesi della Compagnia di Giesù opera d' un religioso della medesima Compagnia. The disillusionment countered by a cleric of the Order of Preachers to the defense of the Chinese missionaries of the Society of Jesus a work by a cleric of the same Society. </p> hardcover
