Eight full page chromolithographs printed in Holland by L. Van Leer et Cie each with brief verse in French. As indicated by the title the illustrations by T. H. Collins are all rural scenes. One is set in the Australian bush and features kangaroos parakeets and a lyrebird. The anonymous author was perhaps Helene Sachot whose book Le Livre des Bebes illustrated by the American artist Ida Waugh was also published by Magnin. Vve Magnin & Fils unknown‎
