Gorny, Yosef
FROM BINATIONAL SOCIETY TO JEWISH STATE Federal Concepts in Zionist Political Thought, 1920-1990, and the Jewish People
Unwrapped in plastic. ; Jewish Identities in a Changing World, V. 7; 9.25 x 0.75 x 6.25 Inches; 189 pages; The central issue in this book are the federal ideas in the Zionist political thought during seventy years, from the early 1920s to the late 1990s. These ideas and plans had a double meaning and purpose: to find a suitable political bi-national structure for the Jews and Arabs in Palestine, which will enable both of them to fulfill their national goals, and to enable the Jewish people in the world to make Palestine their homeland by free immigration. The Zionist federative ideas were carried by different and even rival political parties and leaders, ranging from right-wing nationalists to Social-Democrats and liberal humanists. But despite this diversity all of them were based on the liberal and democratic political tradition in Europe before World War I. These ideas were renewed in the State of Israel at the end of the last century.

Gorski, Stephen.
GERMAN CRIMES FORGOTTEN? REFLECTIONS ON THE NUREMBERG TRIAL
Original Wraps. 12mo. 16 pages. 18 cm. First edition. Critical pamphlet contemporary to the Nuremberg Trials on their historic significance, with a summary of their content and purpose, and a critique; argues that the atrocities committed in Poland against the Polish population (7 million murdered) has been slighted in their exposure in favor of atrocities committed on the soil of the USSR and its satellites. The author gives numerous examples of specific atrocities committed in Poland which should have been included in the trial proceedings, lambasts the trial for not mentioning the liquidation of the Warsaw Ghetto; ends with the argument that 'totalitarianism' was not utilized as a category in the trial proceedings as this would immediately point to the continuing existence of other totalitarian states, namely, the USSR. Subjects: World war, 1939-1945 - Trials - Germany. World war, 1939-1945 - Atrocities - Poland. OCLC lists 3 copies worldwide (U of Toronto, Bayerische Staatsbib. , Ntl Lib Poland) , none in the US. Gortschakoff-Ouvaroff, Nathalie.
JUIFS ET CHRÉTIENS.
First edition. 8vo. 31 pages. In French. Dreyfus era imprint. A period review by the editor of the Jewish Chronicle wrote, "The admirable pamphlet of the Princess Natalie Gortschakoff-Ouvaroff entitled 'Juifs et Chretiens' which lately appeared at Paris in French, has already been translated into German by Dr. Adolf Blumenthal, and published at Mayence by Wirth, and also into Italian. The Russian Censorship has authorised the free circulation of the book - that is to say, free from the control of the censor - throughout Russia. An impartial perusal of the work cannot fail to alter the opinions which the educated Russian entertains of the Jews; and if a translation into Russian could be published, so as to make the Princess Gortschakoff's opinions more accessible to the general public, such a publication might play an important part in educating the masses on the Jewish question." SUBJECT (S) : Jews; Jewish question. OCLC lists 5 copies worldwide (Univ of California L. A. , Harvard, UPenn, UPenn Center for Judaic Studies, Universiteit van Tilberg) . Good condition; covers chipped, text stained. (FR-1-22)
