Published by the Hogarth Pres which was founded by the author together with his wife Virginia Woolf. This biography explores the author's childhood and his years at Cambridge. Leonard was one of the friends that formed the notorious Bloomsbury Group with Lytton Strachey Maynard Keynes Roger Fry and others. Lytton Strachey Maynard Keynes E. M. Forster Clive Bell - the kernel of the Bloomsbury Group - are described vividly and amusingly as young men in his account of his Cambridge years. Illustrated with various photographs in black and white. Minor chip on back of jacket and has gone up slightly by front-flap and side. The jacket has some minor bleeding over from orange cloth on inner-side of jacket. It is completely dry and only slightly. The book has a few small stains on boards and a crease on the spine. There is always some marks from previous patch and a name under. Jacket shows minor nicks to top of spine less so to bottom and a incomplete1 in. cut on the lower spine margin. Jacket is protected with a removable mylar cover. All corners clipped as common to the edition even the facsimilie jacket shows no price. Woolf 1882-1941 is best known for her novels <em>Mrs. Dalloway </em>1925 and <em>To the Lighthouse</em> 1927. Her well known 1924 essay Mr. Bennett and Mrs. Brown can be found on page 94. Mr. Bennett was a critic of Woolf and other writers of the time while Mrs. Brown was an anonymous woman who reflected modernist writers.
