Oleg Kagan war einer der berühmtesten russischen Geiger des 20. Jahrhunderts der Generation nach David Oistrach und Eduard Grach. Er studierte ab einem Alter von 7 Jahren zuerst am Rigaer Lettischen Staatskonservatorium bei Joachim Braun. 1959 wechselte er dann an die Zentrale Musikschule Moskau, wo er unter anderem bei David Oistrach seine Studien fortsetzte. Er wurde der Lieblingsschüler David Oistrachs, mit dem ihn bald auch eine private Freundschaft verband. Schon bald errang er zahlreiche Preise: Beim Enescu-Wettbewerb in Bukarest 1964 den 4. Preis, bei der International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in Helsinki 1965 den 1. Preis, beim Tschaikowski-Wettbewerb in Moskau 1966 den 2. Preis und beim Internationalen Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb in Leipzig 1968 den 1. Preis. Er war mit der Cellistin Natalja Gutmann verheiratet, mit der er häufig gemeinsam aufgetreten ist. Seit 1969 war Swjatoslaw Richter regelmäßiger Kammermusikpartner Oleg Kagans. Er gründete mit seiner Frau 1990 in Wildbad Kreuth ein Musikfest, das ihm zu Ehren nach seinem Tod in Internationales Oleg Kagan Musikfest umbenannt wurde. ‎* Mauricio Raúl Kagel (* 24. Dezember 1931 in Buenos Aires; ? 18. September 2008 in Köln) war ein argentinisch-deutscher Komponist, Dirigent, Librettist und Regisseur. Sein Gesamtwerk umfasst neben Instrumentalmusik und Werken für das Musiktheater auch die Komposition und Produktion von Hörspielen und Filmen; er leistete einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Neuen Musik der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Kagel gilt als der wichtigste Vertreter des ?Instrumentalen Theaters?, einer Art ritualisierten Konzertakts, in den auch die sichtbaren Begleiterscheinungen des Musizierens (Mimik, Gestik, Aktionen) mit einbezogen werden. Ein eindrucksvolles Beispiel seiner Musiktheaterwerke ist das 1971 in der Hamburgischen Staatsoper uraufgeführte Werk Staatstheater, das aufgrund von Drohbriefen unter Polizeischutz aufgeführt werden musste. Kagel selbst entwickelte eigene Instrumente und Spieltechniken, etwa für den Film Zwei-Mann-Orchester oder das Instrumentaltheater Exotica. Die Partituren stellen bisweilen komisch-originell konsequent nicht nur die Erwartungshaltung der Interpreten, sondern auch der Zuhörer auf den Kopf. Auch in Werken für den Konzertsaal spielt Theatralik und sichtbare Musik immer eine große Rolle. So stürzt der Solist im Konzertstück für Pauken und Orchester am Ende kopfüber in sein Instrument. Andere Werke beziehen Alltagsgegenstände (Acustica) und Geräusche mit ein. ‎The Development of Clarinet Fingering Technique‎

‎Born in York England Reginald Clifford Kell was the first prominent player to apply vibrato consciously and consistently to his tone in which respect he modelled himself on his colleague the oboist Léon Goossens. Jack Brymer was another pioneer of vibrato but came to prominence later than Kell. Inspired by the great singers with whom he came in contact notably Kirsten Flagstad Kell sought to emulate their warm expressive sounds on the clarinet.1Kell was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London in 1929. After graduation he was Sir Thomas Beecham's choice as first clarinet for the London Philharmonic before the Second World War and the Royal Philharmonic after it. He was succeeded in the LPO by Bernard Walton and in the RPO by Jack Brymer. He was Arturo Toscanini's principal clarinettist in the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and was invited but declined to take the same position in Toscanini's NBC Symphony Orchestra in 1939. 2His solo repertoire extended from Arcangelo Corelli and earlier to twentieth century works.Kell emigrated to the USA in 1947 where he made a successful concert and recording career.2 He was also a noted teacher his best-known pupil being Benny Goodman who approached him for lessons in 1948/49. Kell initially refused considering that any necessary changes would have an initial temporary backwards effect on Goodman's playing; he did not want the American public to view him as "the man who ruined our Benny Goodman." Goodman persisted and Kell accepted him as a student in 1952 and taught him until his return to England.3 His other pupils included the soloist and conductor Alan Hacker.2Kell returned to England in 1958 taking up an appointment at the Royal Academy of Music.2 He retired from playing in his early fifties and returned to the USA in 1959 where he had a technical post for the local distributors of Boosey & Hawkes instruments.2 He retired in 1966 and died in Frankfort Kentucky USA in 1981.2In 2007 the Deutsche Grammophon label issued a multi-CD box set of all of Kell's recordings for the American Decca company CD set 477 5280. Il est à l'origine de la théorie de la famille des langues tibéto-birmanes et a répandu le terme famille de langues indo-européennes en Europe. - cf : compas magnétique ou magnetic compass - La boussole est dorigine chinoise mais il y a des désaccords sur la date précise à laquelle elle fut inventée. La première boussole chinoise n'était probablement pas conçue pour la navigation, mais consistait en une pierre d'aimant utilisée pour harmoniser l'énergie environnementale selon les principes géomantiques du Feng shui. Il existe des références littéraires dignes d'attention qui mettent en évidence son antiquité - Les historiens débattent de la diffusion de la boussole après son développement en Chine et remettent en question le rôle d'intermédiaires joué par les Arabes. En effet, la première mention d'une aiguille aimantée et de son usage par les marins en Europe se trouve dans De naturis rerum (« De la Nature des Choses ») d'Alexandre Neckam publié en 11908 tandis que la plus ancienne référence à une boussole au Moyen-Orient se trouve dans un récit perse de 1232. La première référence arabe à une boussole, sous la forme d'une aiguille magnétisée dans un bol d'eau, vient du sultan et astronome yéménite Al-Ashraf en 1282. Il semble qu'il fut également le premier à l'avoir utilisée pour l'astronomie. Comme l'auteur affirme avoir vu une boussole être utilisée sur un navire environ quarante ans plus tôt, certains spécialistes font remonter la date d'apparition dans le monde musulman de la même durée. L'invention de la boussole en Europe était attribuée à un Amalfitain nommé Flavio Gioja en 1300 ou 1302. S'il ne fait aucun doute que des boussoles étaient utilisées par les navigateurs européens dès cette époque, le nom de Flavio Gioja résulte d'une série de déformations et de mauvaises lectures de divers textes. Selon l'historien de la marine française, Charles Bourel de La Roncière, « Flavio Gioja est un mythe, la date et le lieu de l'invention sont controuvés ».
