Very interesting illustrations throughout. Mackay 1849-1890 was a Scottsman and engineering student from Edinburgh who wanted to become a missionary to teach practical skills. He got his ministerial degree as a Presbyterian minister and was assigned to Uganda where he taught various skills carpentry road building and farming mostly to Ugandan natives. He was called "Muzunguwa Kazi" by the Ugandans which means "white man of work". He died in 1890 of malaria. <br/><br/> hardcover
