HOMEOPATHY. MEDICINE. Piza Rossello Jaime
La Salud. Manual de homeopatia para uso de las familias.
Madrid: 1887. FIFTH EDITION of the booklet 1st ed. 1864. All editions are extremely rare. Octavo: . Bound in a contemporary wallet binding modified to hold medicine. A rare complete set comprising a Spanish homeopathy handbook for families together with homeopathic remedies prepared by the Solominos pharmacy of Madrid the first homeopathic pharmacy in Spain. A fascinating witness to the diffusion and implementation of Hahnemann's theories. Inside the front board there is a carrier for 23 glass vials. A separate related box with a wooden carrier for 45 additional vials is included. Almost all of the small glass vials still contain homeopathic substances. The inventor of homeopathic theory was the German doctor Samuel Hahnemann 1756-1843 who according to the principle of 'similia similibus curantur' held that the agent that causes an ailment should be administered in heavily diluted form to patients who suffered from that ailment. Homeopathy did not take root on a large scale in Spain where there were very few homeopathic doctors or pharmacists. Among the pharmacists who did prepare homeopathic medicines was Cesáreo Martín Somolinos 1827-1878 who set up his shop at 26 Calle Infantas in Madrid. Somolinos also made up and sold pocket homeopathic kits of the kind offered here some of which are preserved in the Museo de La Farmacia Hispana in Madrid. The author of the manual Jaime Pizá Rosselló. was director and chief pharmacist of the Somolinos pharmacy. See Alfonso Galán "Cesáreo Martín Somolinos: homeopathic pharmacist: his activities in the Hahnemann Society of Madrid" in Boletin de la Sociedad Espanola de Historia de la Farmacia 39 154-155 unknown

James Compton Burnett
Gold as a remedy in disease: Notably in Some Forms of Organic Heart Disease [Hardcover]
About The Book :Gold has great remedial virtues, the place of which no other drug can supply and having myself used it in practice for several years, I have come to regard it in the same light cannot do without it. To my mind there are varieties of disease that Gold, and Gold only, will cure, and others that Gold, and Gold only, will alleviate to the full extent of the possible ; and not a few of these varieties of disease are of the gravest nature. As a heart-remedy alone it claims the most earnest attention of every medical man. In homoeopathic practice it is neglected, and in allopathic practice it is practically unknown. About The Author : James Compton Burnett was born on July 10, 1840 and died April 2, 1901. Dr. Burnett attended medical school in Vienna, Austria in 1865. Alfred Hawkes converted him to homeopathy in 1872 (in Glasgow). In 1876 he took his MD degree.Burnett was one of the first to speak about vaccination triggering illness. This was discussed in his book, Vaccinosis, published in 1884.Along with other nosodes, he introduced the remedy Baccillinum. A prodigious writer he published over twenty books in his lifetime. His book, Fifty Reasons for Being a Homoeopath (1888), is of particular note for beginning homeopaths.J.H. Clarke, Robert T. Cooper, and James Compton Burnett together formed the 'Cooper Club'.This regular meeting of leading British homeopaths was the source of many of the symptoms in Clarke's Dictionary of Materia Medica.Clarke says of Burnett, "…during the last twenty years Burnett has been the most powerful, the most fruitful, and the most original force in homeopathy". Lectures on Homoeopathic Philosophy
About The Book : "These lectures were delivered in the Post-Graduate School Of Homoeopathics Homoeopathy is now extensively disseminated over the world, but, strange to say, by none are its doctrines so distorted as by many of its pretended devotees.Homoeopathics treats of both the science and the art of healing by the law of similars, and if the art is to remain and progress among men the science must be better understood than at present. To apply the art without the science is merely a pretension, and such practice should be relegated to the domain of empiricism. To safely practice the art of curing sick people, the homoeopathic physician must know the science. It is not expected that this course of lectures covers the whole field of homoeopathic philosophy, but it is intended to serve as an introduction to further study, and as a text-book for students, that About The Author : James Tyler KENT (1849-1916)Author of repertory of the Homeopathic Materia Medica, and Lectures on Homeopathic Materia Medica, etc.Dean of the post graduate school of Homeopathy in Philadelphia for nine years.Professor of Materia Medica at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Chicago for six years, and of the HERING medical College in Chicago for some years after. John H. Clarke
Catarrh, Colds and Grippe: Including Prevention & Homeopathic Cure [Hardcover]
About The Book : Cold-Catching, Cold-Preventing, and Cold-Curing. The preven- tion and cure of colds are partly medicinal and partly general. It is possible to cure colds or prevent them by general measures, and these will be re- ferred to in detail. But medicines are the most powerful agents we possess both in dealing with colds when taken, and in fortifying the constitution against their recurrence.Common Cold in the Head had never before possessed a treatise devoted entirely to itself; The Common Cold has thus triumphantly vindicated its right to be deemed a serious disease in the estimation of the British public. About The Author : John Henry Clarke (1853 –1931) was an English classical homeopath. He was also, arguably, the most important anti-Semite in Great Britain. He led The Britons, an anti-Semitic organisation. Educated at the University of Edinburgh, he received his medical degree in 1877. As a physician Clarke had his own clinic in Piccadilly, London, but he also was a consultant at the London Homeopathic Hospital and did research into new homeopathic remedies. Constitutional Medicine, with especial reference to the three constitutions of Dr Von Grauvogl [Hardcover]
About The Book : Skin diseases account for a large proportion of the cases coming to homoeopathic physician who is constantly faced with the challenge of proper diagnosis and treatment. The vast array of symptoms and clinical presentation of skin conditions highlight the need for proper diagnosis and appropriate investigation for homoeopathic prescription.
