Albert Cambriels (1816-1891), général, grand-croix de la Légion d'honneur. L.A.S., Paris, 2 août 1866, 4p in-8. Vraisemblablement au poète Dimitrie Bolintineanu (1819-1872). Très belle lettre de remerciements et de louanges pour un livre de poèmes qui peignent le Bosphose. Bolintineanu a en effet publié ses poésies (Paris, Dentu, 1866) sous le titre de Brises d'Orient. Une partie concernent les « Fleurs du Bosphore » (qui est d'ailleurs le titre roumain de cet ouvrage qu'il a traduit lui-même). Intéressant document. [499]

Belle lettre le remerciant pour l'envoi de ses poésies, parlant de « charmantes pages, confidentes de [son] esprit, de [son] coeur, de [son] superbe talent ». Il mentionne notamment le regretté ami de Popelin, Théophile Gautier, et la princesse, i.e. Mathilde Bonaparte, la maitresse de Popelin. L'ouvrage en question est Cinq octave de sonnets, qui s'ouvre par un page portant en épitaphe « Aux mânes de mon ami et maître le poète Th Gautier ». Belle lettre. [499]
