Qui se souvient que Laval fut le plus célèbre des « jeunes-dreyfusards »... — Maurice Privat (1889-1949) avait débuté en tant que secrétaire de Raymond Poincaré et celui-ci, alors qu’il était Président du Conseil, lui offrit en janvier 1924 le droit d’organiser les premiers programmes de radio à partir de l’émetteur de la Tour Eiffel qui avait été jusque là réservé à des fins militaires. Dans le cadre de cette activité, il vendit notamment des « tranches publicitaires » à l'escroc Stavisky. Dans les mêmes années , il crée une maison d'édition, intitulée “Les Documents secrets”, où il publie ses propres enquêtes : la prostitution au Maroc (“Vénus au Maroc”), les origines du Milieu marseillais (“Bandits Corses”), les affaires Hanau (“Marthe Hanau : haute finance, basse justice”), Oustric (“Oustric et Cie”), Seznec (“Seznec est innocent”), etc. Ami proche de Pierre Laval, mais aussi son astrologue, il publie en 1935 une biographie favorable à l’homme politique. Il lui restera fidèle après 1945, puisqu’il lui consacrera un deuxième ouvrage en 1948.‎

Primakoff theoretical physicist was born in Odessa Russia came to the US in 1930 studied at Columbia University and took his PhD in physics at New York University in 1938 He held several teaching positions before he joined the University of Pennsylvania as the first Donner Professor of Science in 1960. Primakoff won recognition for his research in elementary particle physics becoming famous for his discovery of the Primakoff effect. He was also an expert in nuclear physics and was considered one of the nation's leading physicists. ‎Original-Kriegsgefangenenbrief aus England im Herbst 1918. Es handelt sich um einen Brief, der aus dem Prisoner of War-Hospital im Brocton Camp (Staffordshire) abgesandt worden ist. Der Brief wurde von einem deutschen Soldaten an seine Eltern in Flensburg (Schleswig-Holstein) gesandt. Der Text ist auf drei Segmenten des ausklappbaren Briefs geschrieben, die zusammen eine lange Seite ergeben. Der Brief ist äußerlich als Kriegsgefangenenbrief gekennzeichnet: "Prisoners of War. (Pat. 2333/15)." und benötigte keine Briefmarke. Neben den auf deutsch formulierten Anweisungen der Briten wie "Nicht hier schreiben!" oder "Nicht zwischen die Zeilen schreiben!" enthält der Brief außen einen Aufkleber der Lagerzensur mit dem Hinweis: "Opened By Censor P.W. 700". Der Brieftext durfte also keine brisante Information enthalten, geschrieben wurde vor allem über Nahrung, erhaltene Pakete, Mithäftlinge etc. Im Kriegsgefangenenlager Brocton-Camp (Staffordshire) waren über 6000 deutsche Soldaten interniert, viele starben durch die Spanische Grippe nach Kriegsende im Hospital des Lagers. Von diesem Prisoner of War-Hospital wurde, kurz nach Kriegsende, auch dieser Brief an die Eltern in Flensburg gesandt. Der Brief befindet sich zusammengeklappt noch immer im originalen Format, über der handgeschriebenen Absenderadresse befindet sich auch der Stempel des Lager-Hospitals. Seltene Archivalie aus der Zeit kurz nach Ende des Ersten Weltkriegs!‎
