Sotto il suo sguardo morboso si dipanano le vite dei condomini: un giornalista colpito da una malattia degenerativa accudito amorevolmente dal figlio; un'anziana donna, considerata matta, che cela nella sua follia un terribile passato; un uomo che è al contempo spacciatore pregiudicato e padre premuroso; una bambina enigmatica e solitaria; un padre in fin di vita e un ragazzo addolorato dall'indifferenza che sente per la sorte del genitore. Il portiere osserva e si nutre dei tormenti di questa umanità disgregata, ma quello che prova non è che sprezzante distacco: nel suo cuore c'è posto solo per il rancore.
