Die Konzertreihe stand unter Verantwortung des Hohen Kommissars (John McCloy) der US-Regierung im besetzten Deutschland. Der Titania-Palast stand nach 1945 für mehrere Jahre unter amerikanischer Beschlagnahmung, nur wenige Veranstaltungen unter amerikanischer Hoheit konnten dort stattfinden. Diese Art von Veranstaltungen für die deutsche Jugend wenige Jahre nach Kriegsende können durchaus als amerikanische Entnazifizierungspolitik im besetzten Deutschland verstanden werden, über gewöhnliche Kulturpolitik weit hinaus. Der Original-Programmzettel von 1951 verzeichnet das genaue Programm des Konzerts, zudem Texte zu Samuel Barber und Charles Turner.
