Raro numero del 5 luglio 1815 della rivista Il Cracas diario di Roma rivista dedicata alla cronaca ed avvenimenti di Roma. La rivista fino al 1894 pubblicò in breve o per esteso gli avvenimenti religiosi, politici e militari della città e le notizie che ad essa pervenivano dall'Italia o dall'estero, diventando una ricchissima ed importante fonte di notizie. La rivista è contenuta all'interno di una custodia cartonata con un appunto del vecchio proprietario "Rarità. Diario di Roma del 5 luglio 1815 in cui viene annunciata la sconfitta napoleonica a Waterloo". Numero di interesse storico. Oltre a questa notizia di rilievo anche le battaglie della Francia in Valle D'Aosta. In buone condizioni. Copertina morbida coeva in discrete condizioni generali con usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni ma corpo del libro in parte staccato. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture. In 24.13,5x6,5 cm. The magazine of the 1894 published in brief or for long the religious, political and military happenings of the city and the information from Italy or foreign countries, becoming an important source of information. The magazine is contained inside a carton case with an handwritten note of the former owner "Very scarce. There is the indication of defeat of Napoleon in Waterloo". Number of hystorical interest. In good conditions. Soft coeval cover in fair conditions lightly worn in the extremities. Binding in good conditions but the body of the book partially detached. Inside pages are in good conditions with occasional foxing. In 24.13,5x6,5 cm. Pp. 24.

Original decorated printed wraps. Moses Finzi Lobo was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, West Indies (1834). He came to Philadelphia about 1845, and lived there until his death (1904). He was a respected journalist, scholar, author, and leader in community affairs. His skill and knowledge of shorthand was exceptional, and he was frequently called upon to record scientific addresses, and other important events. He served as private secretary to the Superintendent of the Mint, before resigning that post to engage in literary work. We feel fortunate to be able to present Short-Hand books owned by him. - Edinburgh - Longman Hurst Reese Orme Brown; Constable& Co. 1810 Book. GOOD ONLY. Hardcover. Early editions of these four poems uniformly bound ino three volumes. Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish historical novelist playwright and poet. The first English language author to have a truly international career in his lifetime Scott's works are still read today and many of his works are considered classics of both English and Scottish literature. During his own era and for nearly a century subsequently the works were among the most popular and widely read in Europe. The Lady of The Lake is one of Scott's most famous works. It was published in 1810; this is the eight edition from that very year. The poem was tremendously influential in the nineteenth century and inspired the Highland Revival. Marmion was first published in 1808 and this is the eight edition from 1811. By 1808Scott's fame was such that the publisher Archibald Constable offered a thousand guineas for the manuscript before it was even finished. Copious notes are appended. Rokeby was first published in 1813. This is the sixth edition from 1815. It is set in Teeside during the English civil war. Waterloo was published obviously in 1815. This is the third edition from that year. It is bound together with Rokeby. Collated: complete. Note: some eighth edition Marmion copies seem to have been bound with plates though not in every case. There are no plates in this copy. Condition: In full diced calf. Externally the spines are a little worn. The front joints are tender but resonably firm except in the case of the Lady of the Lake the front board of which has become detached. There is some marking to all the boards. There is evidence for the removal of personal bookplate to the front pastedowns. Internally the title pages carry contemporary ink inscriptions. Otherwise remarkably clean and bright considering the age with only the occasional light stain. Very lightly cockled. Firmly bound. Sm. oblong booklet containing two pages of introductory English text, and 12 monochrome postcards perforated at inner margin (all with original tissue guards), captioned in English; original wrappers printed in blue, yapped edges, covers very lightly dust-soiled else a very good, clean copy. The front wrapper carries the well-known circular ink stamp of 'Panorama de la Bataille de Waterloo', enclosing the lion memorial. The photographs show details from the Dumoulin panorama erected in 1912 at the foot of Lion's Hill. Nice example.

Extremely scarce, and a rare survival in this condition.
