‎Rare et non mis dans le commerce, comme indiqué dans la courte préface. Il s'agit de la version imprimée d'un mémoire autographié remis au ministre de la Guerre le 19 juin 1895, et portant justification de la résistance du colonel de cavalerie Ernest-Alexis Allaire (1838- ?) aux ordres de son supérieur le général Jean-Arthur de Lignières (1832-1897), commandant la 6e division de cavalerie, et portant sur la constitution et l'utilisation de caisses occultes. Mis à la retraite d'office en mars1894, l'officier n'eut de cesse de révéler les faits graves qui avaient conduit à son éviction. Il obtint en partie réparation auprès du ministère.Relié avec : I. Fonds éventuels et retraites d'office. Extrait du Spectateur militaire du 1er novembre 1896. Avocat et publiciste de droite républicaine, angoissé par l'obsession du déclin de la civilisation, Maurice Spronck (1861-1921) n'avait pas pour habitude de critiquer l'armée, mais il donne cependant entièrement raison à Allaire dans cet article.Sont joints : 1. Une L.A.S. de l'auteur (sur papier de deuil), en date du 31 mars 1897. - 2. Un B.A.S. de l'auteur à Monsieur Moranvillé (sur carte de deuil) : "Il eût de beaucoup préféré être réintégré dans l'armée. ‎Édition originale. "Petit ouvrage assez rare" (Saffroy, I-6300). Administrateur général de l'Ordre, vice-amiral contesté, il est né à Port-Louis dans le Morbihan (1762-1828) et fera toute sa carrière dans la Marine. L'origine réelle de cet ordre est controversée mais semble remonter à Saint Louis qui établit en 1254 l'archiconfrérie royale de cet ordre qui comporterait actuellement plus de 20 000 membres répartis dans plus de 30 pays (voir à ce sujet l'historique de Bernard Berthod et Joel Bouessée dans "L'Ordre des Templiers", 2007). Liste nominative des Chevaliers de l'Ordre, de 1740 à 1814 (plusieurs centaines). Petites rousseurs éparses et minuscule frottement au titre, sinon bon exemplaire, bien complet et bien relié.‎

‎Edition originale rare (c'est la seconde partie qui porte la date de 1670).Comme l'ouvrage du Père Joseph-Auguste Du Cros, paru en 1669 à l'adresse de Lyon, cet ensemble de relations sur le siège de Candie forme une adaptation des Viaggi dell Sign. Marchese Ghiron Francesco Villa in Dalmatia e Levante, donnés en 1668 par Giovanni Battista Rostagno, secrétaire de Charles-Emmanuel II.Ghiron Francesco Villa, francisé en marquis de Ville, avait été envoyé par le Duc de Savoie pour venir au secours des Vénitiens lors du siège de la Crète. Il mourut en 1670, peu de temps après son retour d'Orient.Docteur en médecine, à la vie peu connue, Savinien d'Alquié a surtout composé des traductions et des ouvrages de commande.
