Latin text printed on paper in red & black with square-note music on a red four-line stave and one four-line historiated initial; slightly soiled mainly to margins early paper reinforcement to corners of inner margin not affecting text tiny pinprick hole in bottom margin. From an antiphonal printed by Simon Belgrand in Toul Tulli Leucorum France circa 1625. Page 195 begins prayers for the Saturday after Epiphany 'Sabato Primo post Octauam Epiphaniae'. The historiated initial 'D' begins 'Domine ne. . .' 'Put me not to rebuke O Lord in thine indignation neither chasten me in thy heavy displeasure: Have mercy upon me O Lord for I am weak . . .'. Simon Belgrand was a printer active in Toul in the 1620s and up to the 1640s. Antiphonals contain chants for the canonical hours of the Divine Office. Their large size allowed them to be seen by members of a choral section. N unknown
