Il titolo che il professor Franco Pedrotti ha assegnato alla sua ultima fatica editoriale � minimalista anche se scientificamente esatto: "Notizie storiche sul Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta". In realt� il volume consiste in una esplorazione vastissima con documenti inediti accumulati strato su strato quasi come fossero una croda dolomitica in una ricerca che spazia lungo un intero secolo dal 1919 ai giorni nostri e che si traduce in un'autentica miniera di cronache lettere relazioni interventi proposte polemiche. Il tema riguarda un territorio che per il Trentino ma non solo � certo quello naturalisticamente pi� prezioso e paesaggisticamente pi� originale ponendosi al tempo stesso come un vero bastione di identit� culturale alpina. "Spinale" � il nome antico del Gruppo di Brenta prima delle modificazioni toponomastiche introdotte dalla frequentazione alpinistica e turistica della montagna e davvero il Brenta con l'Adamello-Presanella due massicci cos� diversi ma complementari a occidente e a oriente della grande linea geologica delle Giudicarie granito mosso da numerosi ghiacciai e da acque libere l'Adamello dolomia ricca di fenomeni carsici il Brenta costituiscono la "spina dorsale" del Trentino la struttura portante del suo paesaggio e lo scenario dei momenti pi� rilevanti della sua storia. Non poteva quindi mancare nella paziente e metodica ricostruzione della testimonianza dei naturalisti e protezionisti trentini - pionieri di tutto l'ambientalismo italiano - che Franco Pedrotti sta conducendo da anni quasi come corollario ai suoi studi accademici di geobotanica e fitosociologia "Il fervore dei pochi" 1998 "Notizie storiche sul Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio" 2005 e il recente importantissimo carteggio di Renzo Videsott sulle sue battaglie per il Parco Nazionale del Gran Pardiso anche una ricognizione sul Brenta e l'Adamello visti come caposaldi di una cultura ambientale protezionista nelle Alpi orientali e in area dolomitica e per questo oggetto di numerose proposte di destinazione a parco: nel 1919 nel 1928 nel 1935 nel 1936 nel 1942 nel 1951 nel 1967 e infine con la legge istitutiva e "applicativa" della Provincia di Trento attualmente in vigore del 1988.
