‎Nixon, Richard; Gerald R Ford; Jimmy Carter; Ronald Reagan; George Bush; Bill Clinton; George W Bush‎

‎Official Seal of the President of the United States Photograph Signed By Richard Nixon Gerald R. Ford Jimmy Carter Ronald Reagan George Bush Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.‎

‎Rare photograph of the official seal of the president of the United States signed by seven American presidents. Color glossy photograph of the official seal of the president of the United States covering 40 consecutive years of presidential administrations. Boldly signed by Richard Nixon Gerald R. Ford Jimmy Carter Ronald Reagan George Bush Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. The Clinton and George W. Bush signatures were signed as president during their respective incumbencies. The signatures were all personally obtained by former California congressman James E. Rogan. A sheet to the frame backing lists the locations and dates of each signature: Richard Nixon New York September 15 1989 Gerald R. Ford Los Angeles April 12 1989 Jimmy Carter Plains Georgia July 9 1988 Ronald Reagan Beverly Hills May 28 1989 George Bush Sacramento October 15 1995 Bill Clinton The White House March 16 1997 and George W. Bush The White House March 30 2002. Matted and framed. In fine condition. The entire piece measures 15.25 inches by 17 inches. From the collection of California congressman James E. Rogan. The Seal of the President of the United States serves as a symbol of the executive authority and institutional continuity of the American presidency. Officially adopted in its current form by President Harry S. Truman in 1945 the seal features an American bald eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows signifying the nation's commitment to peace and readiness for defense. The eagle's head faces the olive branch reflecting a preference for diplomacy. Encircled by fifty stars representing the states the seal visually reinforces the president’s role as both a national leader and a representative of the federal union. While its design draws from the Great Seal of the United States the presidential seal has evolved in both form and function appearing on official documents lecterns and the presidential flag thereby reinforcing the ceremonial and symbolic stature of the office. unknown‎

‎Original Drawing Signed‎

‎The California representative and senator went on to serve as Dwight Eisenhower's vice president 1953-61 and was then elected thirty-seventh president of the United States a controversial tenure ending in the only presidential resignation in American history. Original Drawing Signed 1p 8½" X 11" n.p. n.d. circa 1960. Very good. Faintly age toned and even more faintly edgeworn with three small marks down left margin not affecting holograph portion or likeness. Boldly pencilled head-and-shoulders portrait by an unidentified amateur artist boldly inscribed and signed in black ink at lower left: "To Donald Burnell / with best wishes / from / Richard Nixon." Attractive and most unusual in this form -- signed right around the period of his disastrous debates with presidential contender Kennedy. unknown‎

‎President Nixon Inauguration Tickets‎

‎Philadelphi: Globe Ticket Company 1969. Unbound. Near Fine. Three tickets to the inauguration of President Richard M. Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew on January 20 1969. The tickets measure 7.25" x 2.5" and are printed on both sides. There is some light wear to the tickets and a couple spots but they are unused with the stub still attached overall near fine. Each of the three tickets is different with two printed on stiff white card stock with different color inks used for each; the third ticket is printed on a stiff gold-coated card stock. Each shows a portrait of Nixon and Agnew with various illustrations of America on one side and the event information on the other. One white card stock ticket has a price of $12.00 and a location on the mall while the other white ticket has no price and is for an "Honored Guest" with seating near the White House. The final gold foil ticket was likely reserved for V.I.P.s with seating on the "Presidential Reviewing Stand"; additional research may well determine whose actual seat this was but our Nixon Presidential Library card has expired and we have not had time to renew it just yet. Nevertheless an interesting selection of tickets from President Nixon's first term as president. Globe Ticket Company unknown‎

‎NIXON, Richard‎

‎Real Peace.‎

‎New York: privately printed 1983. First edition privately published for presentation by Nixon inscribed by him on the front free endpaper "To Strobe Talbott with warm regards - from Richard Nixon 12-15-83". Strobe Talbott born 1946 was then Time Magazine's principal correspondent on Soviet-American relations. He later served as Deputy Secretary of State from 1994 to 2001 and as president of Brookings Institution from 2002 to 2017 an institution partly dedicated to securing international peace. Talbott's lifelong work in foreign relations and analysis make this a particularly appropriate presentation for Nixon's book on foreign policy in which he outlined his view of how lasting peace can be secured between the Soviet Union and the United States achieved through the US taking a much more assertive position with its military and economic power. Nixon published the work privately in September 1983. Publisher's Weekly reported that copies were distributed to 115 influential people 14 October 1983. A trade edition was issued in January 1984. Octavo. Original blue cloth spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Unclipped jacket with light rubbing nicking and creasing at extremities: a fine copy in very good jacket. hardcover‎

‎Nixon, Richard‎

‎Real Peace: A Strategy for the West.‎

‎New York: Privately Printed for Richard Nixon 1983. The privately printed limited first edition of Nixon's fifth book. Octavo original publisher's cloth with gilt titles to the spine. One of 1000 copies. Presentation copy inscribed by the author on the title page "To Sherry Griner with appreciation for her loyal support over the years - from Richard Nixon 12-30-87." Fine in a very good dust jacket. In this terse closely argued book about geopolitical strategy Richard Nixon asserts that while the tools of modern warfare have made war a practical impossibility our differences with the Soviet Union remain profound irreconcilable and potentially deadly. How can we navigate between the impossible and the irreconcilable and establish a real lasting peace is the sum and substance of the former President's message. First the author debunks what he calls the myths of peace chimeras such as disarmament peace-through-trade personal friendships between leaders and world government schemes. President Nixon says that such policies-pursued by themselves-have never averted war and that we court disaster by pretending that they will now. Then he describes the key that can unlock the door to peace: "hard-headed détente" a pragmatic mixture of détente and deterrence that encompasses the full range of political and economic relations between east and West. He shows how we can use summitry economic power and other means to deter Soviet misbehavior and at the same time reduce the chances of world war. Privately Printed for Richard Nixon hardcover‎
