Coatalem, Eric & Nathalie Delosme
Lubin Baugin : Oeuvres religieuses et mythologiques provenant de collections Privées
This is a very good hardcover copy without dust jacket as issued, with almost no wear. Completely clean inside and out. Text in French. Illustrated with 14 color plates + 50 black & white. This catalog was prepared to accompany the exhibition at Francois de Nobele from September 30 to October 28, 1994. Lubin Baugin (ca. 1612- 1663) was associated with the Fontainebleau school in the 1620's. He returned to Paris around 1628 only to begin traveling in Italy in the 1630's. After centuries of neglect he was rediscovered in the 1930's by Paul Jamot and Charles Sterling. Eric Coatalem and Nathalie Delosme organized a fine exhibition of Baugin's religious paintings, which were exhibited at both their galleries in Paris in the fall of 1994. Brief introducton. Biographical sketch. Essays on his style, patrons, students, technique. Chronology. Bibliography. 11" high X 8" wide, 95 pages. Scarce. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
