This is the limited edition of 1000 copies of which 850 constitute the trade edition. Our copy is one of these. Illustrated throughout in color and black & white with reproductions of Thomas Baines's wonderful Eastern Cape sketches, which he produced from 1848 to 1852. Very limited in number when originally issued and fragile by nature, most are by now practically extinct and the scarce survivors are much sought after.
