Jane Carruthers
Thomas Baines: Eastern Cape Sketches, 1848-1852
This is a very good hardcover copy in an almost very good dust jacket. The slate blue jacket was touched by moisture at the base of the spine and is wrinkled there. The dark blue cloth covers also are a shade darker in this area at the base of the spine. Inside the book is completely clean. Blue and pink pagemarks present. This is the limited edition of 1000 copies of which 850 constitute the trade edition. Our copy is one of these. Illustrated throughout in color and black & white with reproductions of Thomas Baines's wonderful Eastern Cape sketches, which he produced from 1848 to 1852. Bibliography. 12" high X 10" wide, 209 pages. Scarce. This book will be wrapped securely and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
