Bonaparte Napoleon Collection of 3 CDVs of Napoleon and family. CDV of a painting of Napoleon by French painter Paul Delaroche. Napoleon stands at a desk in full military regalia and a sheathed sword at his hip. He has his hand in his jacket as customary. Included is an original CDV of Napoleon's son Napoleon II. Beneath the child's portrait are the words "The King of Rome." Napoleon II was the emperor's only legitimate heir born the Prince Imperial of France and King of Rome. He died of tuberculosis when he was just twenty-one. The third CDV show Napoleon's nephew Napoleon III with his wife Empress Eugenie and their son Napoleon Prince Imperial. Napoleon III was the last ruling monarch of France elected president in 1848 before seizing power in 1851. This CDV collection illustrates the generational scope of Napoleon's rule as well as its limitations. Overall all 3 in very good condition. unknown
