‎Charmant almanach contenant des poésies et quelques aphorismes, accompagnés de 12 planches hors texte de costumes (coiffures), très finement gravées : femmes en buste dans un médaillon ovale, avec légende. On y voit les chapeaux à la Benwillers, à la Genlis, à la d'Oliva, à la Cagliostro, à la Newmarket, à la Virginie, etc. Joli titre gravé représentant des Amours courant après des coeurs ailés qui viennent se prendre dans un filet, avec la mention "Jubert fecit". This is extremely scarce edition. The work explores the manners, customs, religion, entertainments, laws, and philosophies of the ancient Greeks. It was meant as a sort of organized synopsis of 'Voyage du Jeune Anacharsis en Greece' by Abbe Jean Jacques Barthelemy (1716-1795). The first edition of this work was published in 1788 (Paris: De Bure). Due to its immediate and enormous success several editions and reprints followed in short order.
