Cesare Lucchesini nacque a Lucca nel 1756, erudito, scrisse un vocabolario di lingua provenzale, un saggio sulla storia del teatro italiano medievale, e diverse opere di critica letteraria e teatrale con particolare interesse verso l'antica Grecia.
