8vo. 269p. DJ. The vivid, elegant, and mildly erotic Satyricon is usually attributed to Nero's friend, Gaius Petronius Arbiter. The surviving portions of the text detail the misadventures of the narrator, Encolpius, and his lover, a handsome sixteen-year-old boy named Giton. Throughout the novel, Encolpius has a hard time keeping his lover faithful to him as he is constantly being enticed away by others. Encolpius's friend Ascyltus (who seems to have previously been in a relationship with Encolpius) is another major character. It is one of the two most extensive examples of the Roman novel, the only other being fully extant Metamorphoses of Apuleius, which is quite different in style and plot. Le sue figure di uomini con elmo simile a quello del guerriero di Dodona visti di profilo le sue "presenze" di faccia i suoi nudi i suoi "tattoo" e soprattutto i suoi colori mi hanno ricordato la grande pittura surrealista di Leonor Fini di Fabrizio Clerici o di Alberto Savinio". Renzetti infatti � stato allievo e assistente di Fabrizio Clerici e molto legato a Leonor Fini che scrive nel 1995 la presentazione in catalogo in occasione della sua prima esposizione. Pur incompleto costituisce una delle sue opere più leggibili e acute, ove evidente traspare la sua modernità: l'unica in cui, come Galileo nei suoi dialoghi, abbia posto a confronto direttamente le proprie posizioni con quelle di un rappresentante della scolastica. Dialogo eminentemente socratico, il volume evoca la figura del filosofo sotto la veste di Eudosso ed espone in forma piana, quasi pedagogica, i punti nodali della speculazione metafisica cartesiana.
