‎First appearance of Bellerby's semnial paper interoducing the first reliable pregnancy test: The Xenopus tead pregnancy textHogben had in 1930 demonstrated that that if the Xenopus toad was injected with anterior pituitary preparations ovulation and oviposition could be induced. Bellerby in 1933 showed thatif instead of keeping the frogs in a cold underground room, he housed them in warm and well lit surroundings he could eliminate the 'captivity effect' and achieve reliability of testing close to 100%. With the minimized captivity effect Bellerby showed that this phenomenon could be utilized as a pregnancy test. ‎Edition originale rare, imprimée à La Rochelle, de cette histoire de France de la seconde moitié du XVIe siècle établie par un historien huguenot que ses coreligionnaires trouvaient trop modérée envers les catholiques au synode de La Rochelle en 1581. Dans cet ouvrage (qui est relatif à la période de 1550 à 1577), La Popelinière a refondu son Histoire des troubles et guerres civiles (1571) "en élargissant le cadre et en multipliant les détails. Il se vante d'être un témoin pour tous les faits qui se sont passés en France depuis dix-huit ans" (Hauser). Cela dit, La Popelinière a beaucoup puisé dans les histoires de Pierre de La Place et de Régnier de La Planche (tous deux calvinistes), qu'il reproduit presque mot à mot et a consulté de nombreuses pièces polémiques dont il donne le résumé. "Quoiqu'il morcelle les événements en un ordre trop strictement chronologique, qu'il écrive dans un style prétentieux et obscur, son histoire n'est pas sans valeur". Cela dit, La Popelinière eut quelques démêlés avec ses coreligionnaires à la suite de la publication de cet ouvrage pour lequel il avait été accusé de faire le jeu des catholiques. Témoin d'une partie des faits qu'il rapporte, ayant pris lui-même part aux guerres de religion entre 1574 et 1576, il a cependant sans vergogne pillé sans les nommer de nombreux passages de ses confrères, notamment Belleforest, Pierre de La Place et Regnier de La Planche.
