Protestation des personnels du journal Berliner Tageblatt contre l’occupation de ses locaux par le groupe Spartacus (Insurrection allemande de 1919.) Retranscription très approximative (le tract étant difficile à déchiffrer, car imprimé en caractères gothiques) : BERLINER TAGEBLATT. Der Spartakusbund hat am Sonntag Abend die Betriebsgebäude des Verlages Rudolf Mosse mit einer grossen Zahl bewaffneter Unhänger besetzt und verhindert seitdem mit Waffengewalt das Erscheinen der von diesem Verlage herausgegebenen Blätter « Berliner Tageblatt », Berliner Bolts Zeitung » und « Berliner Morgen Zeitung ». Gegen diese brutale Bergewaltigung erheben ämtliche Arbeiter, Ungestellte und Redakteure des Betriebes den Schärfften protest. Sie haben einütig jedes pattieren mit den Spartakus Leuten abgelehnt ! Das Deutsche Bolf hat ein Recht auf seine Presse, das es sich nicht nehmen lassen darf. Berlin ist nun schon seit fünf Zagen von jedem politischen zusammenwang mit der übrigen Welt abgeschmitten, und das in einer Zeit, in der die grössten Bundscheidungen für Deutschlands Zukunft fallen. Wir stehen unmittelbar vor den Wahlenzur Nationalversammlung, aber die Wahlarbeit wird unterbungen. Die Beratungen über den Prässminarfrieden beschaftigen die Ganze Welt , aber die Deutsche Reichhauptstadt erfährt nichts davon. In den Strassen todt der Aufruhr, aber die Bevölterung fordert vergebens das sie über die Ereignisse unterrichtet wird. Durch den Gewaltstreich des Spartacus bundes werden tausende von Ungestellten und Arbeitern ihres Rechtes auf Arbeit beraubt. Siese Zustände sind unerträglich und schmachvoll. Jeder Berliner Einwohner, er stehe politisch wie er wlle, wird mit uns für die Freiheit der Presse eitreten. Einwohner Berlins, mit der Preissfreiheit geht die politische Freiheit verloten. Mit ihrer Unterdrucktung werdet ihr den Terrorristen willenlos ausgetiebert. Es geht um die Freiheit der Presse ! Es geht um das Recht auf Arbeit ! Nat Turner's slave insurrection in Southampton County Virginia brought to reality the South's worst nightmare. The incident sparked the only concerted effort by a Slave State to abolish slavery within its borders. Western Virginia's Charles Faulkner and Thomas Jefferson's grandson Thomas Jefferson Randolph led the struggle. Their bill would free all children born of slave parents after July 4 1840. They and their supporters argued that slavery diminished the value of free labor impaired the work ethic and thus fatally damaged the body politic for the sake of the enrichment of a few wealthy plantation owners. They failed in good part because the malapportioned Virginia legislature was tilted in favor of the Tidewater aristocracy. Harrison born and raised in Lynchburg he later moved to New Orleans where he died of Yellow Fever in his mid-30s believed like Thomas Marshall that slavery was a social evil: "inanimation of public spirit- destruction of the spirit of industry in the free population- the degradation of labour itself- ruin of agriculture by a wasteful mode of cultivation- interposing obstacles to the improvement of the soil- and the encouragement of habits and opinions destructive of economy and enterprize." On trouve seulement le titre Insurrection de Paris 1871 et l'auteur J. W. Phot. sur les supports. Au dos de la plupart des feuilles une main anonyme a situé les photos au crayon. Des rousseurs n'ayant pratiquement pas affecté les photos, dos de couverture un peu râpé, sinon bon état général. Très rare document. On joint 3 photos de Paris, même époque, n'appartenant pas à cet album.
