‎Sur le fameux sarcophage d'Eshmunazar II, roi de Sidon, qui fut exhumé en 1855, et désormais conservé au Louvre. Il est recouvert d'une inscription (KAI-14) utilisant l'alphabet phénicien, mais rédigé dans un dialecte cananéen très proche de l'hébreu classique, et dont la découverte, puis la traduction constituèrent un véritable événement archéologique à l'époque.Orientaliste et théologien protestant, Franz Dietrich (1810-1883) donna surtout des contributions en linguistique (langues sémitiques, mais aussi gotique et vieux norrois). C'est au titre de l'étude du phénicien que l'une des deux inscriptions de cette monographie retint son attention.Seulement trois notices au CCF.Relié avec six courtes monographies sur la même inscription phénicienne : I.
